We are currently in negotiations with Anthem for a contract that covers the services we provide to Anthem commercial (employer-sponsored and marketplace) health plan members, and Medicare and Medicaid patients with Anthem as their primary health plan.
Hendricks has worked diligently to reach an agreement with Anthem so patients in Brownsburg with Anthem insurance have access to the affordable, high-quality care they deserve. Unfortunately, Anthem has not shared our desire and has not negotiated in good faith. As a result of Anthem’s unwillingness to work with us, Brownsburg Hospital is now an out-of-network provider for Anthem members with commercial (employer-sponsored and marketplace), and Medicare and Medicaid patients with Anthem as their primary health insurance plan.
We held claims as long as we could, but Anthem forced our hand. Patients may begin receiving bills for the following services beginning June 1:
- Cardiac Testing
- Radiology Services
- Rehabilitation Services (Cardiac Rehab, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy)
- Any Inpatient Care
The following services are considered in-network for Anthem members.
- Physician Offices
- Laboratory Services, beginning June 1
- Immediate Care Center
This negotiation does not affect services received from our Immediate Care and Lab Services, along with primary care physicians and specialists located at Brownsburg Hospital.
It is important to know that these contract negotiations only impact care received at Brownsburg Hospital.
All other Hendricks Regional Health facilities are still in-network with Anthem. Anthem patients are still able to visit all other Hendricks Regional Health facilities at in-network rates.
